October 8 – 16, 2022 Cousins in NC, the Biltmore House, and the Juice Plus Conference in GA. We love our relationships and connections!

We were so close we had to stop in to visit our cousins, Craig & Larry Leonard in Concord, NC and their families. We were able to park our rig and stay at Craig & Jeanie’s new house. Then our first day together we enjoyed a tour of The Kings Greenhouse! They were already getting poinsettias growing for the coming Christmas season.

And surprise, the nearby family was invited over – so much fun to see and hug everyone! We enjoyed a great time of re-connecting with the family and sharing a delicious home cooked bar-be-que with all the fix’ns! It’s always too long between visits but wonderful to catch up with each other again! This was another highlight of our 50th year anniversary trip!

Thanks Craig & Jeanie, Larry & Jean and family for a great time!

We traveled on to Ashville after our stay in Concord. After learning and hearing some fascinating things about The Biltmore House…we added a tour day to our itinerary!

Here we are at the famous Biltmore Estate, wow – impressive! The Biltmore House is a mansion that 26 year old George Washington Vanderbilt II built between 1889 and 1895 for his wife! The structure is approximately 179,000 sq. ft. (over 4 acres of floor space!) It is the largest privately owned house in the US. George called this his “little mountain escape”.

Some amazing facts: in order to provide building materials, George first had to create onsite factories including a mill, a woodworking factory and a brick kiln, which produced 32,000 bricks a day. It is estimated that over 11 million bricks were used to build the house! A three-mile railroad spur was constructed to bring special Indiana Limestone to the project. They hand carved the limestone and covered the bricks with a 6 inch thick facing !

The six year construction on the main house required the labor of about 1,000 workers and 60 stonemasons. Biltmore has 250 rooms in the house, including 35 bedrooms for family and guests, 43 bathrooms, 65 fireplaces, 3 kitchens and 19th-century novelties such as an electric Otis elevator, pipe organ, libraries, and an indoor swimming pool! The estate was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1963.

We traveled by car for miles on the interior roads going from the entrance to the Village, to the House, Gardens, and more. The original property was 125,000 acres, today it is approximately 8,000 acres – whew! Lot’s of trails, paths, and roads to explore!

We explored the village grounds and had fun imagining “being there”.

Our time slot for our house tour arrived. We were fascinated by the history and luxury that was built into this “house” from way back in the 1890’s. It reportedly cost $5 million (today’s equivalent of $150 million) to construct. That’s an amazing amount of money. The Vanderbilt fortune, if measured in today’s dollars, was worth over $6.2 billion – more money than the entire US treasury at the time! All from a startup shipping and railroad empire, the “American Dream”!

Our tour inside was amazing… then we went outside!

Just outside of the Biltmore House are 75 acres of gardens designed by renowned American landscape architect, Frederick Law Olmsted (the same guy that designed Central Park in New York City!) The gardens, the art, the landscape, the beauty, and the sense of excellence that showed itself in everything that we saw. We were challenged to live and strive for excellence in the things we do as well! Those things stand the test of time!

While we were there, we were also able to experience a special limited exhibition: Leonardo da Vinci – 500 Years of Genius!

We were even photo-bombed by Mona Lisa!

De Vinci was an amazing man with an amazing mind. His ability to use and apply his senses to observe, reflect, contemplate, imagine, record, reveal, and invent from what he saw in creation gave him the label “genius”. For us, his life provided new glimpses into the beauty and mysteries of God’s amazing creation!

Onward to more adventures!

At the end of the week we traveled into the big city of Atlanta, GA. We met up with many friends and partners for the October Juice Plus Live Conference. This was the first live conference since the “pandemic” shut down. It was so good to be together again!

We are SO THANKFUL that God brought this amazing business into our lives over 10 years ago. We have made so many close friendships with people that love the Lord and eagerly promote the God given nutritional benefits of fruits, veggies, and berries. It’s our mission to help people – this gives us the opportunity of helping others with their health and finances. We’ve shared with so many that we couldn’t be traveling like we do serving others in God’s Kingdom without this solution providing for OUR health and finances! We are blessed!

We had a lot of fun and learned so much from the sessions and presenters. Juice Plus continues to be the world leader in whole food nutrition in a capsule! We learned that even more research studies have been completed or are in process. Here’s a fact: Juice Plus+ is the most researched nutritional product in the world!

One of the highlights for us is attending the Prayer Breakfast that starts us out with the right mind set – to glorify God in our lives and in our business! Inspiring healthy living around the world!

Just a quick note: maybe you are considering a new career or even adding another stream of income – we highly recommend the Juice Plus Company (only $52/year and no inventory!) Or maybe your health needs a boost from whole food – fruits and veggies. We’d love to have you on our team! Text Lorree 269-753-4124 or Dennis 269-753-4125

Wow – another adventure filled week! We love our life of travel, exploring and interacting with friends and family. So many places to see and do with lots of miles in between.

We decided that for our next adventure, we are going to stay put, rest, and reflect on where we’ve been and things we’ve done and to just enjoy the past 50 years with each other.

Do I hear the waves crashing on the beach?? See our next blog!

April 15 – 18, 2021 We’re going to OHIO! An adventure with special friends and a virtual Juice Plus Conference!

We made plans to be in Ohio to attend the virtual Fall Juice Plus Conference. We stayed a few nights in Kentucky at Levi Jackson State Park Campground. It was “our happy place” as the entrance sign suggested!

It’s been a while since we had a campfire and rosted hot dogs. So good – this was a nice campground!

We never knew there was a “library” of mill stones. This place was connected to Levi Jackson Park – and very interesting. Who knew there was such a science to making and using mill stones to grind wheat and other grains into usable flour for food. We learned a lot here!

We arrived in Springfield, Ohio. Out of the scenic camping and into the city! Lots of traffic!

Then right back into a beautiful scenic campground – this was a great place to escape the city – while still in the city! We’re only a few miles away from Jeff & Chris Reap and Jan & Mark Roberto where we will be attending the Juice Plus Conference virtually with the team based in Ohio.

We hiked to the lake through the brambles behind our campsite. It’s always so peaceful near the water on a beach! Should’ve grabbed the fishing poles!

Time for the conference! We always have such sweet fellowship when we get together (which isn’t often enough!) Of course we especially enjoy food! We enjoyed a special treat going out to eat at the Clifton Mill – a historic site with a vintage mill and a covered bridge.

Our weekend started at Jeff and Chris’s house with the Friday morning Prayer breakfast. There were thousands “attending” virtually. Worship time with Araon Keys and special speaker Charles Martin. Wow – so challenged on the topic of God…our Father!

Learned a lot of new material on presentation, using Zoom to build community, and the amazing company compensation plan. Each took turns sharing their Juice Plus story. We were blessed to met several new team members and make new friends!

Saturday we all met at Mark & Jan’s house – even a bigger crowd! We had so much fun meeting, talking, sharing, and learning, the day went fast even though it was so full!

We’re so thankful for being involved with the Juice Plus Company. Our God-given immune system has remained strong and healthy, protecting us from so many health issues (like COVID). Lorree’s business has enabled us to do what we’re doing – retire, serve others, and travel to see friends and family. And we get to have fun doing it!

We spent Sunday with Dana and Dayna Love! After church we came home to find a robin had built a nest and layed eggs on top of their JP Tower Garden! (…there has to be a divine illustration in this somehow!?) The day was certaintly joy-filled!

Since Dana retired he’s becoming quite a chef! He cooked up some fantastic Chinese dishes and the girls made fresh vegetable spring rolls. Everything was oh SO good!

Time to move on to our next adventure… Headed to Michigan to be with Ray & Sarah and our grandkiddo’s! Here we come!

January Excursions -JP Regional, Tampa Super RV Show, Jim & Cindy Johnson!

January 11, 2020 – JP Pajama Regional – in Savannah, GA!

It was great to meet up with our JP team in Savannah, GA. The Pajama Regionals are always a great time – live streamed to everyone’s home location. We learned a lot and were inspired by the live testimonies of change in so man people’s lives

What a great group, loving each other and our commitment to healthy living! We enjoyed shared meals and interaction with each other – this is some of our Juice Plus “family”!

This was so much FUN! …..we’re all looking forward to Phoenix, AZ in April for our JP Live Event!

January 17, 202 The Tampa RV Show Supershow!!

We drove over to Tampa Wednesday evening and registered for the Tampa RV Supershow. We spent all day Thursday walking and gawking! SO MANY RV’s -everything from little teardrops to huge Class A motor coaches ($500,000 and more !)

We found one we liked! Its from a new company – focusing on quality and simple designs. This was their Paradigm model from Alliance RV. It’s a 5th wheel (see pic on the left) – not ready to buy up yet – but maybe something for our future?

We found Buddy and Cindy Ward working the booth of Cypress Gardens RV Resort -Florida. It was so good to see them and visit for a while. We made plans to see them in Fort Myers when we move South to Lake Placid for our next SOWERS project. We also met this great couple from Colorado! very similar family and RV stories – its great to meet strangers and leave as friends!

January 27, 2020 Jim & Cindy Johnson

We spent a day with Jim & Cindy Johnson at their home in Crystal River, FL. We had a great lunch and enjoyed playing Mexican Train (dominoes) while visiting.

Meet “Henny”! This beautiful Herring spends a lot of time at Jim & Cindy’s. (It could be that Cindy likes to feed it pieces of Bologna once a day)!

October 17-19, 2019 Juice Plus Live! Austin, Texas

Looking forward to meeting up with our team and learning more about Juice Plus! an estimated 12,000 people are expected here in Austin!

We learned SO MUCH! – new research, new compensation plan, new videos, and more, to help us be successful! This company is so full of innovation, integrity, and inspiration!

A highlight at every conference is the early morning Prayer Breakfast attended by over 3,000 people! This conference featured speaker was Jenna Lucado Bishop (Max Lucado’s daughter). Matt 11:28 “Come to me , all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest”. We also enjoyed a great time of worshiping our Lord and Savior. What a great way to start the conference with God first!

We had an awesome experience during lunch – we were privileged to help pack food boxes for the Children’s Hunger Fund. The goal was to pack 2,000 boxes – but we exceeded that, nearing 3,000!

It was very organized – the lines moved fast through pallets of food and boxes! Each box contained a couple of balanced meals to share, and had scripture on them to introduce the recipients to Jesus. https://childrenshungerfund.org/

Each Juice Plus conference is rich with fun, education, inspiration, and motivation – looking forward to April 2020 in Phoenix, AZ!
